Koopman's Oliebollen Mix
[Mix For Dumplings or Waffles]

Koopman\'s Oliebollen Mix
These deep fried doughnut type balls can be made with currents or raisins or any candied fruit of your choosing. These are usually topped with powdered sugar.
These also make a great funnel cake dough

Our favorite way to enjoy these, is to make waffles! You can also make the most amazing and delicious waffles, by adding 750 ml of milk (or a milk/water ratio of your choice), and one stick (4 oz) of melted butter. Wonderful! Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Each box is 1 pound, 1 ounce of mix

Top these with some Poeder Suiker in a nice shaker that distributes the sugar evenly.

Directions for Oliebollen:

Recipe: about 25 pieces
500g mix for oil balls
1/2 liter water about 37 deg. C
Possible filling: 250g soaked raisins or currants

Mix oil ball mix and the warm water in bowl. For filled oil balls mix in the raisins/currants. Let dough rise for half an hour in a warm place and cover with a damp cloth.

Heat oil to 190 deg. C, oil has to steam. Wet 2 spoons or ice cream scoop to form small oil balls and lower them into the hot oil. Cook balls in oil for about 4 minutes until golden brown. Dry balls on paper towel.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar or brown sugar if desired.

Variation: Can add 150g chopped pineapple and 150g soaked raisins (without liquid).
