Compared to the bulk or katjes salmiak fish, these have a similar firmness, though the extrusion is a bit longer, so each piece is a bit thicker. The salt and sweet levels are quite mild, but the licorice is quite strong throughout, making for a very savory treat. The strong licorice flavor is really unburdened by the bite of heavy salt, so these may appeal to people who like traditional strong sasafrass and anise candies.
